Four Oklahoma boys teams turned in strong performances to earn All-American honors and bring home hardware in recent national dual tournaments held across the nation. Competing in Wisconsin, the Junior boys Greco team won 4th place honors, while in Utah, the 16U Oklahoma Blue freestyle team earned an 8th place finish and in Pennsylvania, the 14U Oklahoma Red team earned double All-American honors with 8th place finishes in both freestyle and Greco.
It was an impressive turnout and performance by the Oklahoma teams as 99 wrestlers and their coaches made the long distance trips to represent Oklahoma in the national tournaments.
In addition to the team honors, nine wrestlers went undefeated to earn spots on the prestigious All-Tournament Teams. In the 14U tournaments, Dalton Perkins and Ryatt Rodden, went undefeated in both styles to earn All-Tournament honors in both freestyle and Greco. Perkins went a combined 13-0, while Rodden was a perfect 15-0 for the week.
Also, special recognition to brothers Rylan and Graham Sandoval, who earned spots on All-Tournament teams. Rylan, an incoming freshman went 8-0 in Greco, while Graham, an incoming 7th grader, went 6-0 in Greco. Others named to the All-Tournament Teams were Jake Miller, Cason Craft, Van Smith, Legend Ellis, and Seth Hernandez. Only wrestlers who went undefeated, with a minimum of five wins were named to the All-Tournament Teams.
